From the PresidentHello Members,
We are excited for this coming year and have been putting together an awesome board to serve you. This year, we did not have any contested positions but we do still have some open positions. I would like to introduce the people who have volunteered to be your NOSC Hampton Roads (NOSC) Board for 2022-2023. President Alicia Tracey has volunteered for the position of NOSC President. Alicia has been on the board for over a year serving as Vice President. She is the spouse of a Navy Engineering Duty Officer (former SWO). They and their two children arrived in Norfolk the summer of 2020 after two exciting years in Japan. She grew up in San Diego and has supported her husband's 24-year career while living mainly on the west coast. In her spare time, Alicia enjoys hosting friendly gatherings, beach outings, sailing, baking, reading and some crafting. Vice President - Open Treasurer - Open Secretary - Open Membership JoAnn Moran would like to stay on as your Membership Chairperson. JoAnn is a longtime Navy Oakleaf spouse and mother of five. JoAnn’s spouse was a Navy pilot, Medical Service Corp Officer and he retired as an Anesthesiologist. They have five grandkids and she loves to sew, quilt and smock. Member at Large Lynne Randall would like to stay on as your Member at Large Chairperson. Lynne is the spouse of a retired US Navy Officer and is a Seattle native. She enjoyed living overseas for ten years, mostly while her husband was on exchange tours. She enjoys chalk painting, creating stained glass art, and boating. They have two cats and currently live in the Virginia Beach area. Charities Tiki Cain would like to be your new Charities Chairperson. Tiki is the spouse of a retired Army Logistics Officer and mother of three great children; Jenna, Brodie, and Creed. She grew up in Colorado and has supported her husband’s 28-year career while living all over the U.S., Hawaii and Korea. Tiki currently serves as the bookkeeper for the Tidewater Collection and is looking forward to being part of the NOSC board. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and their Labradoodle, Lilly.Publicity - Open Tidewater Collection Manager Heather Fitzpatrick will be your Tidewater Collection Manager for another year. When Heather took the position last year it was a two-year term; however, there is a chance that her time may have to be cut shorter due to family needs. Heather is a US Navy Nuke/SWO Spouse, former elementary school teacher, and mother of two adult young women and two fun-loving Shichons. As the manager of TTC and TTC Too, she oversees purchasing and facilitating volunteers. In her spare time, she enjoys photography, travel, and gardening. If becoming the stores’ next manager is of interest to you, please reach out to Heather. A few board members from this past year have agreed to step in until we fill vacant positions. Those board members are: Chelsey Ashinhurst, who will support NOSC as an Advisor, and Stephanie Machado, our Treasurer for the past two years. A Parliamentarian will be appointed by the New President. We hope to have all vacant positions filled after the Welcome Social, if not before. If you or anyone you know is interested in joining the NOSC Hampton Roads Board please reach out to any board member. We are looking forward to another great year! Sincerely, Chelsey Ashinhurst, Outgoing President 2021-2022 |
